Soft mobility and road marking
Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, cycling has exploded and it is among the forms of transportation that are recommended because it is individual and non-polluting..
Transportation that’s socially responsible.
However, infrastructure is not always well adapted to bicycles. To respond to this challenge for active mobility, the city of Sullana, Peru, installed a network of 7.5 km of bicycle lanes, representing 7,950 m² of ground marking, serving strategic points in the city: economic, commercial, health, educational, and recreational sites.
safety is a priority
The city’s cycling network, built by Girod Peru, guarantees the safety of cyclists. Indeed, 1,937 Nova markers and 1,929 concrete separators were installed to complement the ground markings and physically separate the bicycle
lanes from the car lanes.
In addition to the horizontal signage, 66 signs were installed according to Peruvian regulations. The regulations aim to secure areas shared between motor vehicle lanes and bicycle lanes.
With 55 bike racks installed, cyclists can properly park their bicycles and secure them.
